My Experience
Where I got it: Amano sent me a sample skein.
Needles I used: Hiya Hiya US 3/3.25 mm
Blocked Gauge I got: 26 sts/36 rows = 4"/10 cm
My Thoughts: This is definitely a luxury yarn. It's soft with a tiny halo from the alpaca and a bit of shine from the silk. It's all about the drape and softness and would be great worn right on the skin.
What I might design with it: I designed Adelpha, a shaped, textured cowl with this one, and I've got a hat in it coming soon. I'd hesitate to knit a garment out of it since it's so very slippery. Even with seams it wouldn't have much structure.
Where you can get some: Amano is distributed by Berroco, so check with your LYS, particularly if they carry Berroco yarns. Otherwise there are some online sources too.
