Calling Floral Lovers!
Climbing Flowers Socks Are out Now!
My newest pattern, Climbing Flowers is now available! You can get the pattern here on my website or on Ravelry.
The Story Behind this Pattern
I find joy in paying attention to small things in nature. I’m one of those hikers who appreciates “botany pace,” when everyone present is constantly pausing to say, “Look at this!” I’ll stop mid-stride to hear that bird call again. I’ll stoop down low to see the underside of a weird fungus. And I can hardly bear to just walk by a flower without admiring it and probably photographing it from five different angles, trying to convey its vibrant, wild nature.
The idea for these socks came to me as an urge to express the messy perfection of petals and stems in knitting. This pattern is a celebration of the urge to stop and admire, to go slow and feel the rhythm of being a part of the world.

About the Sock Pattern
The socks are worked toe-up.
The colourwork is all-over except for the toes, heels, and cuffs.
Colourwork charts have a light Main Colour and a dark Main Colour option so you can choose the look that most closely matches your project.
Clever increases and needle size changes are used to improve the fit and stretchiness of the socks.
I consider this an intermediate level pattern. Techniques used include Judy’s Magic Cast-on, working colourwork from charted instructions, wrap-and-turn short row shaping, and increasing.
I used one of my favourite sock yarns for my sample, Organic Studio Sock from Neighborhood Fiber Co. This is a great project to use up those special contrasting skeins of sock yarn, but if you’re in the mood for some stash enhancing, I think you’ll love this company and their yarn!
Love The Scenery and Vibe?
I took a bunch of pictures of this gorgeous location while I was scouting it out for my official photo shoot. There are humminbirds, peacocks, and flowers! Have a look at my Autumn Colour Celebration and Hummingbird Land posts for more colour inspo!
