Looking for the small beings
what do you notice?
Sometimes I take my camera on walks with me, but not all the time. One thing I realized the last time I took it along was just how much delight I got from the small beings I was photographing. I do always listen and look for birds and it brings me a sense of calm, but there’s a different quality to taking their picture.
When I squat down on the trail or lean way back for a better look, then zoom in, I’m trying to catch their most expressive, adorable moments. It gets me really looking closely at their tiny faces, their perfect, weird feet, their intricate feathers, and their fluffy tails. It’s all just so much! They’re so incredible in their tiny little bodies. How precious to share the world with them!
I hope I can communicate a little bit of my joy to you through my pictures. Here’s a bit of what I saw the last time I took my camera on a walk with me. I encourage you to take an extra moment with each picture to relish what’s unique about each creature and landscape.
