Socks and Sandals? Oh yeah!
Style Faux Pax or Genius?
Okay, I don’t actually wear socks and sandals very often, but here in Victoria, early summer mornings can have a tiny chill to them. I’m mostly gonna be wearing just sandals during the day, but I’m not too cool to slip on some colourful socks while knitting on a bench in the forest overlooking a waterfall.
(I wasn’t happy with any of my waterfall pictures, so there aren’t any in this post, but I did get a lovely sun-soaked big leaf maple, so scroll down for that!)
These are the sample of my Pacific Socks that I’m keeping for myself and which are perfect for pairing with my go-to Teva hiking sandals. I think they’ll be great for under my Blundstones in fall too! (These socks were the July design for the Gauge Dye Works Summer Yarn + Pattern Club. You can see more about them here.)
What do you think?

And In Case You Missed it — August Club!
This is the last week to sign up for the August instalment of the 2023 Gauge Dye Works Summer Yarn + Pattern Club! We’re closing signups on Friday, August 18 and the yarn and patterns will be exclusive for a year after that.
If you already signed up for the whole 3-month club, your August instalment will be on its way to you in a few weeks, so you don’t have to do anything.
You can learn more and sign up here.
And here are a couple videos where Catherine and I shared our design development process for this summer’s club: June and July.
