My Experience
Where I got it: Sweet Georgia sent it to me as part of a secret project we’re planning together.
Needles I used: US 5/3.75 mm
Blocked Gauge I got: 22 stitches/32 rows = 4"/10 cm
My Thoughts: Like a lot of Sweet Georgia yarns, this one is surprising in a wonderful way. It’s soft and draping like you’d expect from a wool/silk blend, but it’s also got a woolly body that makes it feel really sturdy and knit up beautifully in colourwork.
Because silk tends to make fabric a bit slippery and slippery stitches can be tricky in colourwork, I was skeptical about using it for that. But the good folks at Sweet Georgia encouraged me to give it a try, saying they’d developed it with colourwork in mind. (Go look at the colour palette for this one and you’ll see what they mean!) So I did and they were absolutely right about their own yarn — go figure!
What I might design with it: The flower motif I used for my colourwork swatch is from my upcoming book, KnitOvation Stitch Dictionary, which you can pre-order right now hint hint. But I’m also contemplating other special things with this yarn! I’ve got my hands on the fingering weight base too, so I’ll be sharing that later.
Where you can get some: You can get it at their website or try your local yarn shop.
