My Experience
Where I got it: Spincycle sent it to me to design with.
Needles I used: Hiya Hiya US 7/4.5 mm
Blocked Gauge I got: 16 sts/26 rows = 4"/10 cm
My Thoughts: Independence is a dense, soft, and striking yarn. It makes a heavy fabric with really saturated intense color that's definitely semi-solid, making a really rich-looking texture. The thick-and-thin is not very dramatic and it didn't impact the gauge. Every now and then there were sweet puffy spots where a few stitches were significantly bigger than in other spots, but it mostly made neat, even stitches.
What I might design with it: I designed a textured shawl with it that will be coming as soon as my testers get a chance to play with it. Stay tuned! With this yarn, the focus is about texture and the richness of that intense color.
