My Experience
Where I got it: Hudson and West sent me mini skeins of both their bases, along with a shade card, to try for this project.
Needles I used: Hiya Hiya US 6/4 mm
Blocked Gauge I got: 23 sts/32 rows = 4"/10 cm
My Thoughts: This is a great, round 3-ply yarn that I think will be great for cables and wardrobe-staple sweaters — think that classic Aran style pullover you’ve always wanted to make. My gauge ended up snugger than suggested on the label, but the fabric is still really supple. It’s also got a sweet heathered look that I really like. It feels rustic and sturdy, but note that the sheep breeds are Merino and Corriedale, both soft, and I think that Corriedale adds a nice bit of bounce.
What I might design with it: I’m really interested in playing with their natural colour, Aspen, and cables. Like I said above, probably sweaters.
